HOMECOMING

Hi Lovely Phi's!

Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend. Homecoming is just around the corner -- only a little over 2 weeks away!!

We are planning an Open House from 12-2 and 4-5 on Sat. Sept 26. The Open House will consist of a potluck prepared by the active members, slide shows, elongated family trees, and tours of the updated parts of complex. We hope to see all of you there and more information will be coming in the future! So keep an eye out for a newsletter from our Alumni Director.

Also at 3 PM is the Homecoming Parade. Please come support Alpha Phi! We will have a float that we will be decorating all that week. Please feel free to walk with us or to cheer from the sidelines along Madison St. and Michigan St. The Parade starts at the old Country Market parking lot (where Little Cesears is!)

Hope to see you all there!

Summer Update

Hello lovely Phis! Hope you all are enjoying your summer. Obviously, since school is out of session for the summer it has been pretty quiet around campus. However, many of our Phis have been busy planning for what looks like a busy September.

Recruitment will take place the second week of September, and then followed by Adrian College's Homecoming Sept 24-26. I know our Vice President of Rectruitment is working hard with her party chairs planning for an amazing recruitment week. Also our Director of Alumnae Relations is organizing an Open House for alumnae at Homecoming. So check back here in early fall for details on what is being planned! We hope many of our amazing alumnae can stop by for a visit!!

Til then, have a safe and joyous summer!!

Phi love - Janet

Car Wash Fundraiser

Alpha Phi Car Wash (All proceeds go to the Scott family)
Date: Monday, April 27, 2009
Time: 12 - 4 PM
Where: Midas (corner of M52 and Beecher)

During Greek Week, all of the greek organizations participated in a philanthropy project. This year the recipient is the Scott Family, who’s house burned down at 1155 Michigan Ave. These are neighbors of both Theta Chi and SAE. Theta Chi and their Alumni have raised $400.00. And SAE was able to raise over $700.00 in less than an hour at their auction for this family! This brings the grand total for the week to over $1,150!! This does not include the donations Greek Life coordinator, Lindsay Tuttle has received in her office. Donations thus far include 2 tv’s, a microwave, monetary donations, blankets, food, toiletry items, etc.

9th Annual Mr. Alpha Phi Pageant!

Tonight is our 9th annual "Mr. Alpha Phi" pageant. It will take place at 8 PM in Dawson Auditorium.

All proceeds will benefit the Alpha Phi Foundation in support of cardiac care research for women. For alumnae who may have never been to the Mr. Alpha Phi pageant it is a male beauty pageant consisting of approximately 15 Adrian College students. The pageant has 3 rounds: beachwear, formal and casual. Each participant will also be asked three questions about relationships, love, etc.

Last year's reining "Mr. Alpha Phi" is Kyle Watson, a member of the men's varsity hockey team. "Over the past year, I have developed awareness for the sorority's fellowship and positive direction," said Watson. "The Mr. Alpha Phi pageant is a great event, and with it being for cardiac care, it's for an exceptional cause. It's an excellent opportunity for students to interact with the sorority and share some laughs."

Welcome!

Hi lovely sisters of Alpha Phi!

This is the Delta Eta chapter's new blog! We have been trying to determine the best way to keep alumnae and current members up to date on the latest happenings here at Adrian College.

First I would like to introduce myself, I am Janet Creque, current Recruitment Adviser for the chapter. I was initiated in March 2002. I am also the web content editor for Adrian College, so our current sisters see me all the time! I also have a 5 year old "little dipper", Chloe Morgan, who just loves Alpha Phi already!

The idea of this blog was developed between myself and the new Director of Alumni Relations for the chapter, Crystal Cieslak. Between her and myself, as well as Andrea Robison (Chapter Adviser) and Bethany Camarati (New Member Education Adviser) we hope to have continuous updates on here about the chapter.

We would also like to hear from our alumnae. If you would like to update the sisters of Alpha Phi about what's been going on in your world, please email Crystal or I and we will be glad to post it! Include photos too!!

Hope to have some new posts soon! So bookmark this site, and check back often!!

Phi love - Janet
